37 rank-verified coaches play this role

Support is the easiest role to queue and the hardest role to carry with. You can land every hook, save every fight, and still watch your LP flatline. That happens because your impact lives on the map, and most Supports never learn to use it.

The role punishes autopilot. Wards dropped in the same brush every game, roams that leave your ADC in a 1v2, every ability spent on poke right before the enemy jungler dives. None of it feels like a mistake, and all of it caps your rank.

A Support coach reviews your games and rebuilds the habits underneath. You learn to check the wave before every roam, place wards that answer a question, and make the peel or engage call before the fight starts. You stop following your ADC around and start running the map.

What you'll work on

Vision With Purpose

Place wards that answer a question and sweep the ones answering theirs.

Wave State Reads

Check the wave before you leave lane so your ADC never eats a 1v2.

Trading Windows

Punish the enemy ADC every time they step up for a minion.

Roam Timing

Crash the wave, hit mid or river, and be back before the next one lands.

Peel or Engage

Read each fight and spend your abilities on the target that decides it.

Objective Setups

Rotate early, clear enemy vision, and hand your team a safe Dragon or Baron.

01

Vision Is a Decision Tool

Wards are not a chore to complete, they are information your team acts on. Before placing one, ask what decision it enables: tracking the enemy jungler, covering a roam, or securing the next objective spawn. One deep ward on the enemy jungle path is worth more than three dropped in the same lane brush out of habit.

Denying vision matters as much as placing it. Swap to the sweeper once lane settles, clear wards on the side of the map your team wants to play, and pick up control wards on every back. Never trade your life for a ward: a dead Support hands over more information than any trinket buys back.

02

Roams Start With the Wave

The wave decides whether a roam is brilliant or throwing. Crash it into the enemy tower first, then move: their bot lane is stuck farming and your ADC is safe. If the wave is pushing away from your tower, stay, because leaving turns your lane into a 1v2.

Good roams have a destination and a return time. Hit mid when your laner has prio, join your jungler for a river fight or an invade, and drop a deep ward on the way through. Then get back before the next wave crashes, so the roam cost your lane nothing.

03

Peel, Engage, and Fight Reads

Every teamfight asks you one question: do you start it, or do you keep someone alive? Engage when the enemy carry steps up, key cooldowns are down, or nobody else on your team can begin the fight. Peel when your ADC is the win condition and divers are hunting them.

The answer can flip mid fight, so hold something back. Layer your crowd control after the enemy dash lands, not before it, and keep one ability for the assassin you know is coming. Supports who spend everything in the first two seconds spectate the rest of the fight.

Support mistakes we fix

  • Roaming while the wave shoves away, leaving your ADC in a 1v2 they never agreed to.
  • Warding the same river brush every game while the enemy jungler paths around it.
  • Spending every ability on poke, then watching the dive with everything on cooldown.
  • Face checking a brush to place a ward and calling the death an investment.
  • Finishing the game with the starter trinket and zero control wards bought.
  • Following a dead ADC into the fight so the enemy gets a matching pair.

Your coach reviews your games and trains the decisions that define the role: vision plans, trading windows, roam timing, and the peel or engage call in fights. You leave each session with specific habits to fix, not vague tips.

Any rank works, from Iron to Master and above. Coaches meet you where you are, and fundamentals like wave state and ward purpose matter at every elo.

Coaches set their own rates, with sessions starting around $10 per hour. Many offer bundles, and some offer a free intro session so you can try before committing.

Yes. Filter coaches by champion to find someone who mains your pick, whether that is an enchanter, an engage tank, or a mage support.

VOD reviews suit Support especially well because roams, vision patterns, and fight decisions show up clearly on replay. Live sessions over voice help with in-the-moment reads. Many students alternate between the two.

Yes, and it is one of the most common things Support coaches cover. You learn to stabilize a losing lane, when to leave it and play with your mid or jungler instead, and how to stay useful through vision when bot is behind.
