Best ADC and Support Duos in League of Legends

Stack the two highest win rate champions in the bottom lane and you do not get a 55% bot lane. You usually get something closer to 48%. The best ADC and support duos in League of Legends are pairings whose kits raise each other's numbers: crowd control that lands inside the carry's cooldown window, power spikes on the same minute, peel that reaches as far as the carry stands.

Patch 26.16 made that matter more, not less. Riot's ADC magic resist buff and the harsher support quest penalty for leaving lane pushed bot back toward a real 2v2, and a real 2v2 rewards duos that fight together. Here is the shortlist, the numbers behind it, and the sequence you press once minions spawn.

The best bot lane duos on patch 26.16 at a glance

These five come from lolstats.gg's bot lane synergy table on patch 26.16, Platinum and above. Duo win rate is what the pair actually wins. Synergy delta is the column that matters: how much better they do than their individual win rates predict. The rest of the article explains how to play each row.

Higher up the ladder the names shift. U.GG's Emerald+ duo tier list has Jinx + Braum at 56.49% on 8,349 games with a +4.27% synergy factor, with Ashe + Milio trading the top spot all patch.

What actually makes a bot lane duo strong

Three things, in order. First, crowd control your ADC can follow up on inside its own cooldown window: a 1.5 second stun is worthless if your carry's damage sits behind a 9 second ability. Second, matching power spikes, because level 2 decides more low elo bot lanes than level 6 does. Third, peel that covers the ground your carry has to stand on.

Then there is the number nobody explains. A duo win rate is two champions plus their interaction, so two strong solo picks post a strong duo number with no synergy at all. Only the delta isolates the interaction, and it is signed: Samira + Nautilus reads 54.0% with a +3.7% delta, meaning the pairing itself is worth nearly four points. Caitlyn + Lux, the lane bully every old guide sells you, reads 48.3% with a -0.3% delta on almost 4,000 games. Two fine champions, zero interaction.

Filter everything you read through three things. Patch, because synergy moves every time Riot touches an item. Rank band, since u.gg reports Emerald+, lolstats reports Plat+ and METAsrc ranks the top 5,000 bot lane duos, so one pairing can differ by three points across three tabs and all three be right. Sample size last, and it is the one people skip: under roughly 1,000 games, ignore the row. Twitch + Lulu at 53.1% is real, but it sits near 800 games, so treat it as a lead, not a fact.

Best engage duos: win the 2v2 and snowball it

Start the fight on your terms, kill someone before items exist, turn the kill into plates and tempo. This is the fastest climb in low elo, because low elo bot lanes react to coordinated aggression about half a second late, and half a second is the whole trade.

Nautilus + Kai'Sa

The snowball standard, and the order matters. Nautilus lands Dredge Line or walks up for his passive auto root, Kai'Sa answers Q into W, and because her Q and W both apply Plasma, the passive detonates before the enemy support has reacted to the hook. From 6 she does not need to walk in: Plasma on the target means she ults out of the fog as the follow-up.

A whiffed hook is the entire plan spent. And the honest number: on Plat+ data this pair reads 48.1% with a -1.4% delta, which says less about the plan than about how few Kai'Sa players convert it.

Leona + Samira

A race to level 2. Get there first, then Leona throws E into Q the instant she levels and Samira dashes onto the crowd control with Wild Rush. Wild Rush resets on takedowns, so the first kill hands her a free second dash and the lane usually ends there.

It is elo dependent in both directions: it needs an ADC who converts, and flash heavy lanes with disengage simply leave. After lane it wants river skirmishes and objective fights, not long teamfights where Samira gets kited.

Xayah + Rakan

The only pairing with synergy written into the kits. Rakan's Battle Dance has extended cast range when it targets Xayah, they recall together, and after 6 Featherstorm makes the lane close to ungankable. Two patterns: Rakan E onto Xayah from a brush into flash ult, or Rakan engaging off a Bladecaller root she lands first. Both are challenging champions, so if either of you is learning them, pick something else tonight.

Also strong here: Rell + Miss Fortune, where Magnet Storm drags bodies into the Bullet Time channel and holds them, and Draven + Thresh, where the lantern gives Draven the gap-closer his kit never had.

Best enchanter duos: survive early, peel the hypercarry

This plan concedes early tempo on purpose. Farm, shield, refuse coinflips, arrive at the point where your carry cannot be killed through. What kills it is exactly what you would expect: a hard all-in lane that ends the game before your spike lands.

Lulu + Twitch

The historic 1v9 lane. Lulu spikes hard at 2, so there is a genuine aggressive window at levels 2 and 3 off a level lead, and after that the lane is rinse and repeat: punish overextensions, farm everything else. In fights, a Twitch carrying a shield and a Wild Growth is very hard to kill.

The condition is honest. This duo lives on the Twitch player, and both Lulu's shield timing and Twitch's ult positioning have to be right, or you have two champions doing nothing for 30 minutes.

Milio + Ashe

The safest duo on the patch and the one to hand anyone who keeps losing lane. Milio's ultimate cleanses most of the hard CC that is the only thing reliably killing Ashe, and Cozy Campfire extends her already absurd attack range, so you sit outside the enemy's reach and keep making trades. U.GG has had Ashe + Milio at or near the top of its Emerald+ list around 56% for weeks.

The same pattern is why Milio + Vayne works: range plus a heal and cleanse ult for a carry who mostly needs to reach levels. If you die in lane rather than lose late, this is the fix, and it is what ADC coaching sessions keep recommending to players stuck on aggressive picks.

Sona + Smolder (and Soraka + Jinx)

The scaling babysit. Smolder needs time and stacks, 125 for the upgraded Q and 225 for the execute, and Sona's W-max heal, shield and poke is the resource that buys them. You are not winning this lane. You are making it boring while he farms.

Soraka + Jinx runs the same logic with a different carry: Astral Infusion carries Jinx through the phase where she has no escape, and one takedown gives her Get Excited and a fight she wins alone. Both fold to early dive comps that stop the stacking.

Best poke and control duos: win the lane without fighting

Lowest variance plan on the Rift. Out-range the enemy bot, chip them off the wave, shove, take plates, never take a coinflip. The weakness is worth saying up front: no kill pressure against a disciplined lane that farms under tower, and gap-closers that get through the poke anyway.

Caitlyn + Nami

One of the top-performing pairings on patch 26.16 data at 54.7% in Plat+. Aqua Prison gives Caitlyn the stun her kit lacks, and Tidecaller's Blessing on her next three autos turns headshot range into real kill threat instead of chip. The job is mechanical: shove, trap the retreat path, poke off cooldowns, collect plates.

Caitlyn + Lux reads better in guides than it performs. Caitlyn + Morgana is the plate-farming version, safer to play, though lolstats.gg's Plat+ numbers like it least of the three at 48.0% on nearly 2,500 games.

Ashe + Seraphine

Big sample, double CC, and one interaction most players never notice: Beat Drop roots targets that are already slowed, and Ashe's Frost Shot slows everything she hits. Every auto Ashe throws turns Seraphine's E into a root. Add Encore into an Enchanted Crystal Arrow and you have a fight-ending ult combo that lands even on pings.

Ashe appears in several top duo rows for a reason. She amplifies almost any support, which is why the duo performs across brackets, not only where players coordinate well.

How to match a support to your ADC

The rule covers every pairing not on this list. Engage support behind an all-in ADC. Enchanter behind a scaling hypercarry. Poke support behind a ranged lane bully. Every good bot lane answers two questions, who starts the fight and who finishes it, and the most common troll pick answers neither: a poke mage parked behind an immobile scaling carry starts nothing and survives nothing.

Solo queue is the harder case, because your partner locks first. Blind pick supports that work behind anything: Nautilus, Thresh, Braum, Milio. If you get last pick, use it. Braum eats Rell and any lane built on projectiles, Morgana's Black Shield turns hook lanes into a free 15 minutes, and Soraka answers poke and all-in both. That layer is one of the fastest things a session with a support coach fixes, since you make the decision every single game before minions spawn.

Why strong duos still lose lane

The combo hands you the tools. Fundamentals decide whether you use them.

Do not start the fight on a wave shoved into their tower. Know your own level 2 timing instead of guessing: bot lane splits experience, so level 2 lands during the second wave, and you need to know whether you or they get there first. Do not take poke you cannot afford before your support has mana to peel. Ward the river before the all-in, because a ward placed after you commit is information you never use. Sync back timings so neither of you loses a level buying a component.

When the lane goes wrong, review it in that order: first trade, mana at the all-in, ward timing, who committed first. Most players blame the pairing and are wrong. If you cannot spot it yourself, that is the exact question a VOD review with a high-elo coach answers, because no champion list fixes the layer underneath it.

Frequently asked questions

Can you duo queue in ranked League of Legends, and what are the rank restrictions?

Yes, one partner, and the gap tightens as you climb. Through Emerald you queue with the adjacent visible tier, with Emerald capped at Diamond III. Diamond IV to II pair between Emerald II and Diamond II, Diamond I is limited to within 200 LP, Master needs closely matched MMR, and Grandmaster and Challenger cannot duo at all. Flex is the workaround: any party size except four.

Does duo queue cost you LP?

There is no flat LP tax. The adjustment lives in matchmaking, which hands duos marginally harder opponents to offset the coordination you get for free. Queueing together is therefore not an edge by itself: you have to be better together than apart, and two people who never talk are just two solo players in a worse lobby.

Do these duos still work if you are not on voice comms?

Yes, because the synergy lives in the kits rather than the callouts. They degrade unevenly, though. Enchanter and poke pairings barely notice, since shielding and poking are reactive. Engage duos lose the most, because the follow-up window after a hook is fractions of a second. The habit that recovers most of it: ping your target before you engage, every time.

Should you keep duoing if your duo win rate is worse than your solo win rate?

Track both across at least 20 games, because anything shorter is noise. If the duo rate is still lower, the pairing is rarely the problem. It is usually mismatched champion pools, one of you playing off-role to fit the other, or tilt cycles that get louder with a friend in the lobby. Change one variable, play 20 more, queue solo if nothing moves.
